What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Specialist position at SeaWeed Co.?
As a Kitchen Specialist, you play a critical role in kitchen operations. In this role, you help optimize kitchen and cooking procedures to successfully create and package consistent, safe, delicious, quality edibles. You report directly to the Senior Product Production Manager with direction provided by the Assistant Production Manager - Kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and production of large batches of cannabis edibles.
- Prepare and clean work spaces, equipment and materials daily
- Wash and sterilize kitchen and equipment
- Assist in preparing samples to be sent for testing
- Manage inventory for raw, bulk, and finished goods
- Assist in developing and executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Perform administrative tasks such as printing labels, auditing products and supplies
- Package and label finished products for compliance
- Assist with lab technician duties as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Reliable transportation
- Individual Identification Card issued by the Office of Cannabis Policy of Maine
- Commercial Kitchen experience preferred but not required
- Team player and experience working on a diverse team
- Strong comprehension skills for following recipes, measurements & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to multitask various activities, machines and systems with urgency
- Effective at completing monotonous activities while maintaining quality and minimal errors
- Detailed oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency, quality and sanitation
- Demonstrated ability to set standards and hold team members accountable
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed, between the hours of 8am and 8pm, Monday through Friday
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50-lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8-hours daily), push, pull, bend and stir
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
