Purpose: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk supports daily warehouse operations by coordinating shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safe handling and storage of goods. Primary Responsibilities:
- Ship and receive goods in accordance with documented QMS procedures.
- Load and unload goods from trucks safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with carriers and schedule shipments following customer guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping records and required documentation.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by performing precise ERP transactions.
- Package and ship goods promptly to meet the daily shipment schedule.
- Identify and resolve complex issues, recommending process improvements as needed.
- Verify that outgoing orders match job and customer requirements.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse to ensure proper storage of goods.
- Package goods using appropriate materials to prevent damage.
- Use banding equipment to secure goods to pallets.
- Maintain packing and shipping equipment in proper working order.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (sit-down and stand-up trucks).
- Use shipping software (such as UPS WorldShip and FedEx Shipping), scanners, label printers, and scales.
- Transport goods to and from the warehouse using the company truck.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and support a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States and possession of a valid state-issued ID.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping and receiving role, including experience with international shipments and documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs., with sufficient manual dexterity; must be able to walk and stand for extended periods on concrete floors and work at a computer workstation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office Suite preferred) and the ability to perform accurate data entry.
- Ability to interpret and follow written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid DOT medical exam certification.
