JOB DESCRIPTION
Seattle Visiting Nurse Association (SVNA) is looking to hire several full-time (30-40 hours a week) nurses for our fall immunization season; This includes both influenza (flu) and Covid-19 booster vaccinations. Our vaccination season will begin in September 2023, with training and orientation in August 2023. It is a temporary job (2-4 months) and pays $44 an hour.
JOB SUMMARY
SVNA is currently hiring RNs and LPN/LVNs to provide flu and/or Covid-19 booster vaccinations in a number of different clinic settings: indoor mass vaccination clinics, smaller corporate clinics, and/or drive-through mass vaccination clinics. Our nurses are expected to work clinics all across the greater Seattle area. We are looking for nurses who can work 30-40 hours a week (including weekends).. We also expect the next Covid booster recommendation to be announced in the coming months, which would extend our immunization ‘season’ through the winter.
Clinic Types:
[1] Corporate Clinics: our nurses work autonomously (1-4 nurses) in the field running job site flu clinics. Nurses will be provided with all the necessary supplies & vaccine to run successful clinics.
[2] Mass Vaccination Clinics: for our larger clinics there will be a site manager present, who provides all supplies and vaccine.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Safely administer both flu & Covid-19 booster vaccines on-site at corporate, private, drive-through, or community venues.
- Must be comfortable with pediatric immunizations.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, fellow nurses, and SVNA management.
- Provide education to patients regarding vaccine indications and side effects as needed.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and dependability.
- Ability to lift up to 20-25 pounds intermittently. Your clinic supplies will come in a cart but might need to be lifted at times.
- Ability to drive a vehicle to and from clinic sites across the greater Seattle area (including downtown).
- Smart phone access; as you will need one to access our scheduling/availability application. You will also clock in & out on the app.
REQUIREMENTS
- Active and unencumbered Washington state nursing license.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills, organization ability and customer service focus.
- Comfort vaccinating kids between the ages of 4 and 18 at times.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Proof of TB test.
- Access to a car, the ability to drive, and car insurance.
- Drivers license & passport (or passport card).
- Hepatitis B vaccination.
- Covid-19 vaccination (dose 1&2).

COVID-19 considerations:
We require our nursing staff to be vaccinated against Covid-19 (Dose 1 & 2). We are also following DOH guidelines for clinical settings *subject to change.
