Salary
$27.86– $39.23 Per hour, non-exempt, payable bi-weekly. The salary scale for this position is between steps 0 and 19, depending on experience. We use the resume submitted on your application to determine your hourly wage, so please ensure that all relevant work experience is listed in your resume. Applicants must pass an extensive background check.
Schedule
This is a non-exempt, 40-hour-a-week position. This position works in conjunction with the Seattle Public School calendar and is active from September to June of each year. You will be furloughed in the summer months of July and August, then return to work again for the beginning of the school year. You will not be paid through Seattle Roots Community Health during your furlough. If there are special projects during July and August, you may have the option to work rather than be furloughed. Still, prior approval is required by the Program Manager and CEO. Should you be assigned to work on special projects in July and August, you will be paid your regular wage, though your FTE may be adjusted if the project does not require a 40-hour week. If you decide to be furloughed in July and August but wish to continue your benefits, you must pay your regular premium amount. You will be able to make these arrangements before going out on furlough.

Our Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center was founded in 1970 in Seattle's Central District. Our Country Doctor Community Clinic was established in 1971 by residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Job Summary
The Health Center Administrator position is at Meany Middle School and works according to the ten-month Seattle Public School calendar. Essential duties include managing the Health Center's daily operations and working closely with the Seattle Roots Community Health School-Based team, Meany Middle School students, teachers, administrators, and community partners to serve our patients best.
Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Plan and facilitate clinic planning meetings, training, and team-building activities.
- Coordinate community outreach and partnerships.
- Participate in Seattle Roots and Meany Middle School staff meetings.
- Manage and respond to patient access, demand, and satisfaction fluctuations.
- Co-coordinate Vaccines for Children
Financial and Contract Management
- Plan, monitor, and manage SBHC expenditures within the budget.
- Monitor and communicate productivity to providers.
- Track contract deliverables and partner with Operations Manager to monitor them appropriately.
Administrative
- Coordinate schedules of medical and mental health providers who provide services at the Meany Health Center
- Ensure that all students are checked in appropriately and are seen according to their needs and the needs of the providers.
- Complete EMR registration of patients and verify insurance coverage.
- Manage inventory of office supplies, including ordering, invoicing, receiving, and stocking supplies
- Oversee all day-to-day administrative clinic tasks, including answering telephone and email inquiries, greeting visitors, and maintaining student health records
Outreach
- Coordinate and lead targeted outreach activities focused on promoting, integrating, and informing students, families, school staff, and the general school community about the Health Center’s services.
- Coordinate and perform educational outreach activities focused on health promotion and health education to students.
- Develop and manage materials and announcements associated with outreach activities.
- Service Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for referrals and service inquiries from school staff and families for Health Center services.
- Attend school meetings related to identifying and coordinating health support services for students.
- If patient needs are outside the scope of our services, educate patients, school staff, and families on other health care and support services available in the community and within the school through student support/intervention systems.
- Support additional school initiatives, such as orienting students to careers in the healthcare field.
- Promote awareness of the Meany Health Center to the staff at the organization’s main clinic sites
- Participate in Seattle Roots internal committees and initiatives.
- Other duties as delegated include providing cross-site coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years providing direct patient care required
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and various computer software programs
- Experience in medical office and administrative work
- Experience with Epic or other electronic medical record systems
- Experience with AMION or other scheduling systems
- Experienced in outreach programs targeting school-age youth and families required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google products, and working on PCs
- Ability to interact and work well with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Proven availably to work as an effective member of a team
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills with diligence
- Ability to work independently, to be flexible, and to prioritize and handle multiple, often competing tasks
- Ability to be resourceful and to approach problem-solving in a creative manner
