Ideal Start Date: July 2026/flexible
Hours: Monday through Friday from 12:00pm-6:00pm (flexible)
Who care will be for: a 26 year old adult woman
Compensation: $35-40/hour with guaranteed hours, paid time off, paid federal holidays, accrued paid sick time, mileage reimbursement
Six month minimum commitment required, with the possibility to extend

The Family:
This family is seeking an adult companion and mentor who can help their 26 year old daughter build routines, purpose, and accountability on her journey to sobriety. She is a kind, empathetic, sweet soul who has had difficulty creating new healthy habits, routines, goals, hobbies, and friends. Mom lives in Bellingham, and Dad is local to Seattle. They are invested in their daughter’s success, and working with an adult companion is something new they are hoping will be helpful for their daughter. They all are are hopeful she can enjoy the bounty of choosing a path of success by creating new routines and habits.
Their daughter is an incredibly intelligent person. She speaks intermediate Japanese, and is into anime, travel, and Japanese culture. She is a talented hair color and nail artist, and has her Washington State nail tech license. She’s also into animals (she has a cat), photography, and used to swim and ride horses.
The heavier stuff: their daughter suffers from trauma, depression, anxiety, and drug addiction. She keeps relapsing because she has not yet been able to stick to her goals for sobriety and life in general. We are all cheering for her, and feel she needs a dedicated companion who can help support and encourage her journey of self-realization, happiness, and success.
The Job Description:
The companion will be responsible for ensuring a safe, positive, supportive, and constructive environment for their daughter. Their role is to be a companion, mentor, and coach who can help her structure her days, stay accountable for appointments, and coordinate life skill activities each week. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing compassionate support in all aspects of daily life such as with meals, transportation, activities, companionship, and maintaining schedules
- Planning and structuring the learning and hands-on practice of relevant life skills such as creating and maintaining a daily schedule/being accountable to the schedule, and social activities that align with their daughter’s interests and nurture her curiosity and appreciation for life
- Ensuring regular weekly physical activity such as walks, swimming, volunteering at an equestrian stable, etc.
- Providing safe transportation for their daughter to and from activities, appointments, and outings in the care provider’s own reliable vehicle
- Modeling an active, healthy lifestyle/well-being mindset for their daughter
The parents will provide an activity fund and provide mileage reimbursement to facilitate and cover the costs for regular outings and activities.
Companion Attributes/Qualifications:
The family is looking to partner with an active, compassionate, and organized companion who has a positive attitude and lives an active, healthy lifestyle. They should be a goal-oriented good communicator who is patient, organized, punctual, reliable, and have the ability to be kind but firm when needed. The family believes someone with social work experience or knowledge, or someone familiar with mental health, life coaching, or addiction issues, would be a great fit for this role.
The companion should have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle for use on the job, a clean driving record, and a clear background. Being drug-free is a requirement for this role. The ability to speak Japanese would be a bonus, but is not required.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
