What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales & Client Advisor (Residential Construction) position at Seattle Modern Buildings?
About the Company
Seattle Modern Buildings is a construction and development company specializing in ADUs, DADUs, new homes, and residential investment projects throughout the Seattle area.
The company builds more than 70 residential units per year and is actively expanding its homeowner and investor services division. We guide our clients through every stage of the process, from property analysis and permitting to construction and project completion.
About the Role
We are looking for a Sales & Client Advisor who can not only sell the company’s services but also serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients make informed decisions about their construction projects.
This is not a traditional sales position. Our sales cycle is long, our product is complex, and our clients place a high level of trust in us. We are looking for someone who can build relationships, understand client goals, and guide them throughout the entire process.
Because our typical sales cycle can last several months, the ability to build long-term relationships and maintain client engagement is far more important to us than aggressive sales tactics.
We work with both homeowners building their first ADU or custom home and investors developing multi-unit residential projects. As a result, the ideal candidate must be equally comfortable with consultative sales and discussions involving construction and real estate investment opportunities.
The role is primarily focused on handling inbound leads, conducting consultations, and guiding clients through the decision-making process - not cold calling or outbound prospecting.
Key Responsibilities
- Qualify and manage inbound leads. Conduct consultations in person, via Zoom, and at project sites. Lead tours of completed and active company projects. Guide clients from their initial inquiry through contract signing. Sell Feasibility Studies, Permit Services, and Construction Services. Work with both homeowners and investors. Maintain complete and accurate client records within the CRM system. Coordinate communication between clients and internal company teams. Build and maintain long-term client relationships after the initial sale. Contribute to the continuous improvement of company sales processes.
Requirements
- Proven sales experience is required. Experience in construction. Fluent English communication skills. Strong presentation and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Experience working with CRM systems. Willingness to learn and discuss construction, technical, and investment-related aspects of projects.
What We Value
- Ability to build trust and long-term relationships. A consultative approach to sales. Initiative and self-motivation. Ownership mentality and accountability. Strong CRM discipline and attention to detail. A genuine interest in construction and development projects. A focus on long-term client relationships rather than one-time transactions.
- Honesty: We communicate honestly, take responsibility for mistakes, and never make promises we cannot keep.
- Transparency: We communicate openly and ensure that clients and team members always understand what is happening and why.
- Trust: We build trust through consistent actions, accountability, and keeping our commitments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time position. Combination of office-based work and client/project site visits. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Competitive base salary. Performance-based bonuses and commissions. Target annual earnings for successful team members: $100,000-$200,000 (base salary commissions). Significant opportunities for professional growth within a rapidly growing company.
Why This Role Is Different
- Work with a high-value, in-demand product. No cold calling or outbound prospecting. Participate in real construction and development projects. Work directly with homeowners and investors. Help shape and grow a rapidly expanding business division. Opportunity to become a key contributor within a growing company.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who sees sales as relationship management rather than a one-time transaction.
Someone who enjoys helping clients bring construction and investment projects to life, guiding them through complex decisions, and building long-term relationships that lead to repeat business, referrals, and sustainable growth.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
Salary : $100,000 - $180,000
