Job description

Assistant Teacher

Seattle Learning Center – Queen Anne

Seattle, WA

Seattle Learning Center, a play-based early learning and preschool, just created an opportunity for a remarkable assistant teacher to join our teaching team.

Summary of Responsibilities

Seattle Learning Center provides an exciting early learning environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Our focus is to encourage creativity through play and physical activity. We aim to inspire children to be life-long learners and establish a cooperative relationship between parents and staff.

We are seeking an assistant teacher for our Queen Anne school. The Queen Anne school is located on top of Queen Anne hill on Boston St. The center is licensed for 37 children between the ages of 3 months to 6 years old. Both centers have a small but strong community of teachers and parents who are working together to provide the best early learning experience for the children.

We are seeking a teacher that is passionate about working for a small family-owned childcare center. You will be part of a community that focuses on building a center that is child-centered, play-based, and committed to high quality early childhood education. You will have the administrative support needed for you to be able to focus on your duties as a teacher. The ratio for our toddler room is 1:3 and preschool classroom is 1 teacher per 6 students.

A successful assistant teacher at Seattle Learning Center contributes in many ways.

1. Being a part of the Seattle Learning Center teaching staff means you are a team player and a servant leader. We pride ourselves in our ability to build community, have flexibility, and work with each other to make sure the needs of our children, parents and staff are met.

2. At Seattle Learning Center we are passionate about our work. Watching children develop and playing a vital role in this process is what drives us.

3. Our teachers are eager to grow and learn more. With benefits for professional development and annual training, we are constantly changing and becoming better teachers, leaders, and individuals.
