At Seattle Gymnastics Academy, we operate programs under three types of categories: Play, Learn and Compete. Our Compete program is intended for gymnasts who have already experienced and progressed in our Learn (recreational) program, and have shown interest and aptitude to advance to a competitive experience, and have a coach referral.
We currently have a rare, exciting opportunity in our USAG Men’s Artistic Competitive Program, for an experienced Coach to lead our Boys Team at SGA Ballard.
A well-established team, our current Head Coach will work closely with a successful candidate to train, and work in tandem to create a positive transition for the whole team, athletes and coach alike.

Boys Team Head Coach responsibilities:
- Track athlete development
- Foster a safe, supportive and positive environment for our athletes
- Follows SGA Mission, Vision and Values
- Collaborate with marketing programming
- Meet scheduling, attendance, and providing photos and a short written recap post meet to marketing to use for social and newsletter•
- Continuously evaluate and improve program success
- Promote the program internally and externally
- SGA Invitational Meet support
- Partner with management on curriculum development and gym initiativesParticipates in National Gymnastics Day and supports at least one other event annually
- Communicating with SGA parents about their child’s progression in your classes. Our coaches play a key role in their development as a child and as an athlete.
- Participating in our paid training opportunities. This can include our SGA University courses, USA Gymnastics clinics, sessions offered by our in-house SGA trainers, and more
- Assist in light cleaning and sanitation duties to keep our gyms fresh and ready for the next round of classes
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
SGA is looking for:
- 2 years gymnastics coaching
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising or leading staff preferred
- Relevant USAG certifications for Men’s Junior Development Program preferred
- Ability and willingness to coach a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with both athletes and adults
- Enthusiastic about working with youth - previous experience is preferred
- Experience working in fast-paced, active environments
- Ability to resolve any conflict or disagreements that may arise
- Desire to promote a positive learning environment for every child
- Desire to grow and lead within SGA
- Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred
Salary : $21 - $29
