Seattle Academy seeks a full-time, 12-month School Health Coordinator to join our Operations team. The Health Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing programs that support the physical well-being of students, particularly those with special health needs (such as the monitoring of diabetes, allergies, concussion or other conditions). This role requires an understanding of public health principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty/staff, parents, students, and healthcare providers. The Health Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal health regulations, managing health records, and coordinating student care with counseling, families, and faculty/staff. The successful candidate will have a background in pediatric nursing, public health, or a related field, and possess strong communication and leadership skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement school health programs to support students who need disease or medication monitoring and reporting.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with the state and federal health regulations.
  • Manage and maintain student health records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitoring Health Room protocols, usage, student disposition, etc.
  • Work with our front desk and trips teams to coordinate and track student medications.
  • Coordinate with local health departments and healthcare providers.
  • Develop emergency response plans for health-related incidents.
  • Coordinate health screenings and immunization programs.
  • Collaborate with school counselors and psychologists regarding health issues.
  • Organize wellness events.
  • Develop policies and procedures for managing chronic health conditions.
  • Provide first aid as needed.
  • Develop and distribute health-related communications and materials.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education.
  • Report on health program outcomes to school administration.
  • Ability to work with both middle and upper school students.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a school, pediatric clinic, or public health setting.
  • Strong understanding of public health principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of state and federal health regulations.
  • Experience with health education and promotion.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.
  • Ability to confidentially manage health records and data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and health management software.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to promoting health and wellness in a school setting.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to develop and implement health policies and procedures.

HOW TO APPLY:

The position is salaried (exempt) with a salary range of $85,000-$100,000, depending on relative experience.
