Opportunity: Engineering/Tooling/Maintenance Manager – Full Time
Seastrom Manufacturing is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual with a background in mechanical engineering to lead its diverse and highly skilled team. The Engineering/Tooling/Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning and design of the overall engineering process to maintain efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability.
This position requires the ability to consistently follow processes and schedules independently, with periodic interaction with managers and others. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate leadership skills with department personnel and corporate structure.
- Train and mentor new hires.
- Plan and assign personnel for given projects or tasks.
- Assist with the review and evaluation of personnel performance.
- Maintain an environment that nurtures open communication, constant improvement, and accountability.
- Develop, maintain, and report timelines on projects.
- Analyze process flow and make recommendations for improvements.
- Oversee the engineering process including the generation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (requirements, designs, and prints).
- Work with and develop a network-based engineering file management system.
- Answer technical questions on an engineering level.
- Diagnosis and resolving manufacturing problems on an engineering level, also offering suggestions for improvement.
- Oversee the initiation of new work, including the generation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (routings and B.O.M.’s).
- Assist in developing work centers.
- Computer knowledge: MS Excel, Word, Project. Possess a working knowledge of basic CMMS programs.
- Responsible for overseeing, scheduling, and assisting in all maintenance repairs.
- Schedule and manage personnel within maintenance department.
- Responsible for on-going preventive maintenance program.
- Assist in review for purchase of new or used equipment.
- Demonstrate ability to make sound judgments.
- Manage levels of stress, deadlines, and occasional extended schedules.
- Show attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must meet “US Person” criteria per ITAR compliance regulations.
- BS degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous leadership and/or supervisory experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SOLIDWORKS software.
- Knowledge of process related standards
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in addition to practical application of trigonometry, geometry, calculus, and physics. The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; and is frequently required to walk and stop, kneel, crouch and reach. Some sitting is required. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly subject to hazards, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, where there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and noise.
