Opportunity: CMM PROGRAMMER/OPERATOR – Full Time, Part Time, Flexible Schedule
Seastrom Manufacturing is seeking a motivated individual with strong attention to detail to ensure adherence to its quality systems for IS9001, AS9100, and PPAP in a precision manufacturing environment. The CMM Programmer/Operator will perform productions inspections throughout the production process, use precision measuring equipment, review paperwork for accuracy, troubleshoot, and communicate within the department and other departments to produce a final product meeting the customer’s specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and complex blueprints.
- Read and interpret customer and external standards for requirements for non-dimensional characteristics of parts and part qualifications.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of GDT, interpretation, and application.
- Inspect products using precision measuring tools.
- Perform quality inspection on critical components.
- Program and operate CMM to perform inspections.
- Create and complete AS9102 first article inspection reports for CNC machined parts.
- Comply with ISO/AS9100 standards.
- Train and mentor Quality department employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must meet “US Person” criteria per ITAR compliance regulations.
- Must have computer knowledge and experience.
- Training in CMM programming and operation required.
- The ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Strong problem-solving skills.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or grab; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is subject to inside environmental conditions and regularly exposed to loud noise and may also have air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. Must wear steel-toe shoes/boots and other personal protective equipment such as hearing protection when required.
- The noise level in the environment is quiet to loud.
