Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products throughout the store.
- Communicate product features and benefits to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Personalize ornaments by hand with names, dates, and short messages using neat, legible handwriting.
- Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer needs are met.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring product availability.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and providing change as needed.
- Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance on best practices for customer service and sales techniques.
- Utilize basic math skills to perform retail math calculations for inventory management and sales reporting.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular counts, and reporting discrepancies as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management tasks.
- Experience in upselling or sales techniques is a plus.
