JOB TITLE: Middle School Wellness Elective Teacher. 1.0 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY: To provide education services to students in the classroom setting. The teacher instructs students on academic, intellectual, physical and social-emotional growth and wellness. Full job description available upon request.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching certification with middle school-level authorization.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Willingness to work with extra-curricular activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Multiple endorsements, Trauma Informed Care knowledge and SIOP/Constructive Meaning training.
- Certification in Physical Education.
- Computer/Technology skills.
- Spanish speaking skills.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide instruction that supports student’s academic, social-emotional and physical wellness. Classes might include/support: weights and conditioning, study support, yoga, mindfulness, self regulation and coping skills, life skills and makers space or STEAM.
- Evaluate the academic and social growth of students and maintain appropriate records.
- Use data plan for instruction.
- Participate in curriculum and or faculty committees as interested or required.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to support student learning.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Pending approval of the 2024-2025 budget. 190-day contract at 1.0 FTE, starting Fall 2024. Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, salary pending negotiations (2023-2024 salary range $45,005-$91,359) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.
