The Principal serves as the chief instructional and operational leader of the school and is responsible for advancing the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the organization. This position provides leadership in academics, personnel management, student support, school operations, fiscal stewardship, and community engagement. The Principal is accountable for creating and sustaining a safe, orderly, and academically rigorous learning environment that supports student achievement and staff effectiveness.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Principal shall:
● Provide administrative and instructional leadership in support of the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
● Oversee curriculum development, instructional programs, academic support services, student activities, and community outreach initiatives.
● Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly learning environment for students, faculty, and staff.
● Serve as the primary spokesperson for the school and communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, Board members, and community stakeholders.
● Supervise, support, evaluate, and assist in the recruitment and retention of instructional and non-instructional personnel.
● Coordinate academic advisement, student performance monitoring, discipline procedures, and parent communication regarding instructional matters.
● Prepare, monitor, and manage the annual school budget, including FTE projections, requisitions, expenditures, inventory controls, and required fiscal reporting.
● Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, charter requirements, Board policies, and school procedures.
● Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required by the Board, governing agencies, and applicable contracts.
● Collaborate with district personnel, community partners, and school stakeholders to strengthen educational opportunities and student services.
● Provide leadership in assessment, data analysis, school improvement planning, and continuous program evaluation.
● Support transportation, facilities, and other operational functions necessary for effective school operations.
● Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Board of Directors.
Minimum Qualifications● Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
● Valid Florida certification in Educational Leadership or School Principal.
● Minimum of three years of administrative or leadership experience in K–12 education.
● Demonstrated experience with school budgeting, FTE processes, and fiscal management.
● Knowledge of Florida statutes related to charter schools preferred.
● Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
● Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications● Experience in a charter school or secondary school setting.
● Experience in instructional leadership, personnel supervision, and school improvement planning.
● Experience working collaboratively with families, community partners, and governing boards.

Working ConditionsThis position requires regular on-campus presence, extended hours as needed, participation in school events, and active engagement with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders. The Principal must maintain high visibility and accessibility throughout the school year.
