Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate medical assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation process for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as excellent patient service skills to ensure a positive experience for all patients in both outpatient and acute care settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist occupational and speech therapists and other healthcare professionals in implementing rehabilitation programs for patients.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is clean and functional.
- Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities to promote recovery.
- Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, providing feedback to therapists as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress notes.
- Support patient mobility by assisting with transfers and ambulation as directed by the rehabilitation team.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures within the clinic or hospital environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of orthopedics, anatomy, and physiology to effectively assist in patient care.
- Experience in a clinical or hospital setting, particularly in outpatient rehabilitation services.
- Excellent patient service skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Familiarity with acute care environments is preferred but not mandatory.
