JOB TITLE:  High School Strength & Conditioning Coach            

REPORTS TO:  Athletic Director and Building Principal

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

Seaside High School is seeking a team-oriented professional who will administer the strength and conditioning program under the leadership of the Athletic Director.  Responsibilities will include the development, implementation and fiscal control of the strength and conditioning budget; direct involvement with the promotion of the program; supervising and disciplining athletes during activities; and additional duties as may be assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Strength and conditioning experience.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
  4. CPR and First Aid certified.
  5. NFHS Coaching Education certified.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Three years or more of head coaching experience preferred.

2. Computer/technology skills desired.

3. Spanish speaking skills desired.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee the strength and conditioning program.
  2. Follows and maintains knowledge of District policy(ies) and procedures relevant to this position.
  3. Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
  4. Insures a certified coach is present at all practices and contests.
  5. Ensures that proper storage, maintenance and inventory of all athletic equipment and uniforms is adhered to.
  6. Travels and supervises student athletes on the team bus both to and from contests.
  7. Adheres to all financial policies of the District in regard to collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts.
  8. Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
  9. Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles.
  10. Supervises students in locker rooms at home and away contests and ensures appropriate behavior.
  11. Ensures that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.
  12. Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times.
  13. Ensures that medical and safety requirements are adhered to.
  14. Completes District injury report for any student injured within 24 hours, even if student athlete does not see physician.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Salary as per negotiated contract, $4,511 - $4,879.
