JOB TITLE:  High School Assistant Cheer/Rally Coach  

REPORTS TO:  Athletic Director and Building Principal

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

Seaside High School is seeking a team-oriented professional who will assist in administering the cheer/rally program under the leadership of the Head Coach and Athletic Director.  Responsibilities will include coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork;  additional duties as may be assigned.  Full job description available upon request. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Cheer/rally experience.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
  4. CPR and First Aid certified.
  5. NFHS Coaching Education certified.

 

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Follows and maintains knowledge of District policy(ies) and procedures relevant to this position.
  2. Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
  3. Plans and sets-up activities, practices and contests as assigned by the head coach.
  4. Develops appropriate training programs and practice schedules when assigned by the head coach.
  5. Ensures that proper storage, maintenance and inventory of all athletic equipment and uniforms is adhered to.
  6. Travels and supervises student athletes on the team bus both to and from contests.
  7. Dresses in a professional manner during contests and public functions. 
  8. Adheres to all financial policies of the District in regard to collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts.
  9. Makes recommendations regarding the purchase of uniforms, equipment and supplies to the head coach.
  10. Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles.
  11. Supervises students in locker rooms at home and away contests and ensures appropriate behavior.
  12. Ensures that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.
  13. Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times.
  14. Ensures that medical and safety requirements are adhered to.
  15. Completes District injury report for any student injured within 24 hours, even if student athlete does not see physician.
  16. Performs duties as assigned by head coach.
  17. Computer/technology skills desired.
  18. Spanish speaking skills desired.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary as per negotiated union contract. For the 2026-2027 season - $2049 - $2221. Open until filled.
