Position Summary
The CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Instructor is responsible for delivering Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training to staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. This role supports the organization’s commitment to safety, de-escalation techniques, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct CPI training classes for new hires and current employees
Ensure all training aligns with CPI standards and organizational policies
Demonstrate and teach de-escalation and safe intervention techniques
Maintain accurate training records and attendance logs
Evaluate staff competency and provide feedback
Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs
Stay current with CPI certification requirements and updates
Qualifications
Current CPI Instructor Certification (required)
Experience in behavioral health or healthcare setting preferred
Strong presentation and communication skills
Ability to engage and educate adult learners
Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies
Work Schedule
PRN / As Needed
Flexible scheduling based on training demands
Physical Requirements
Ability to demonstrate physical intervention techniques
Standing, walking, and movement during training sessions
Ability to lift and assist in physical demonstrations when necessary
