What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight and On-Call Direct Support Professional DSP position at Seaside Behavioral Healthcare Inc?
We are looking for someone who is available to cover overnight shifts in an Adult Residential Facility. As of now we have several different shifts open.
The home is located in Seaside and we provide services for 6 residents, 3 male and 3 female with ages ranging from their 20's-their 60's.
On this shift, you would be working with one other colleague, so there would be 2 staff for six residents. The residents should all be sleeping during this time, so in general it should be a very easy shift. We do require some cleaning and light housekeeping to be done. But most of the shift will be very calm and quiet.
We have a VERY good working environment and the work culture we strive for is peaceful, calm and not chaotic. Everyone who works hear really enjoys their position and we have a great team of 15 employees so far.

We also need people who can cover day shifts from 6AM-2PM, but mainly on the weekends.
Every week we also have random shifts that open all through the day and night, so if you would like to be listed as an on-call DSP, we have openings for this also.
DSP Overview
In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and individual preferences.
- Monitor patients’ health and well-being, observing any changes in behavior or condition.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Assist with mobility and physical support, including lifting when necessary.
- Document patient observations and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Support individuals in memory care tasks, helping them maintain cognitive functions through various activities.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Skills
- Experience in meal preparation and knowledge of nutritional guidelines.
- Proficient in patient monitoring techniques and home health practices.
- Certification in CPR is preferred but not required.
- Strong ability to assist individuals with physical needs, including lifting when necessary.
- Experience working with people who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Excellent observational skills to monitor patients effectively.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
