What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Aide/Housekeeping position at Seashore Gardens?
The Simon & Sylvia Zisman Seashore Gardens Living Center is an independent, nonprofit home for the aged in Galloway, NJ. We offer a continuum of services from assisted living to short- and long-term nursing care, Alzheimer’s care, respite care and rehabilitation all under one roof. Guided by Jewish tradition, and dedicated to enriching elder lives, we have proudly served our community for more than 100 years.
We are seeking a Full-Time: 5 days per week, 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. Ideal candidate will have prior experience with Laundry/Housekeeping.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather and transport soiled laundry from all buildings to the laundry facility
- Wash and dry laundry
- Fold all clean laundry and distribute to residents
- Keep accurate records of linens
- Notify management of any issues with equipment
Requirements and Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Familiarity with efficient washing methods
- Proficiency with laundering equipment and tools
- Hardworking and efficient
Requirements:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Driver's License
- Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English.
- Must have patience, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle situations with residents based on the maturity level of the resident at the time.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident.
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of (35) thirty-five pounds to a minimum height of the employee and must be able to move such a weight a minimum of 100 feet.
- Perform other job duties as necessary.
