Position Summary
Seashore Middle Academy is seeking a certified 7th and 8th Grade Math / Algebra Teacher who provides rigorous and engaging learning experiences that support students’ academic growth and mathematical reasoning skills. The teacher will deliver instruction aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for middle school mathematics, including Algebra I foundations, while supporting the mission of Seashore Charter Schools to ensure academic excellence and student success.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Mathematics or Math/Algebra endorsement or eligibility for certification consistent with Texas public charter school law
- Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Grades 7–8 Mathematics and Algebra I
- Understanding of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a small-campus, team-oriented environment
- Successful completion of required criminal history background check and fingerprinting prior to employment (non-refundable fee paid by applicant)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to TEKS for 7th and 8th Grade Mathematics and Algebra
- Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction that builds conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills
- Prepare lessons that include accommodations and differentiation for varied learning styles and academic levels
- Collaborate with campus administrators, instructional leaders, and support staff to meet campus and district goals
- Work closely with Special Education staff to implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions
- Maintain a positive classroom environment that supports high expectations and respectful student behavior
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and campus expectations
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and documentation in compliance with campus, district, and state requirements
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning communities, and required professional development
- Maintain required licensure and certifications and engage in ongoing professional growth
- Take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of students, instructional materials, and facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration

Terms of Employment
- Contract: 12-month teacher salary contract
- Minimum Work Days: 182
- Salary: Commensurate with experience, certification, and charter compensation plan
