Job Description

JOB SCOPE:

Overseeing departmental functions within a Distribution Center of up to 200 associates.

Job Summary

The DC Area Manager provides direction and leadership to hourly associates in the Distribution Center.

Supervision

Direct:Direct responsibility of a group of hourly associates ranging from 4-75 associates.

Operations Manager

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establishes and monitors the daily production schedules and ensures adherence to priorities
• Monitors and identifies procedures set forth in the distribution center to ensure integrity and accuracy of inventory and that available resources are utilized productively in order to control cost
• Determines and implements appropriate procedures and monitors adherence to, efficiency and cost effectiveness of the processes, and recommends changes, revisions, additions or deletions as necessary
• Monitors activities to ensure proper work flow and controls inventory processes to enhance member experience
• Supports all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates
• Oversees the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF System
• Takes appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System
• Communicates to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System
• Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates
  
  

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-4 years of related experience
• 18 years of age or older
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of distribution center procedures with analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and proficient computer skills
• Exceptional leadership, administrative, and organizational skills with the ability to drive results
• Ability to physically access all areas of working environment that he/she is responsible for to observe operations/ associates
• Ability to be flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends, and operate on tight deadlines with multiple priorities subject to frequent changes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a group of associates
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Associates Degree or above in Operations Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or Transportation
• Working knowledge of Lean Principles
