We have an immediate opening at our Plainfield, IL location for a Service Technician. This is a full-time position with benefits.
About this position:
We are on the search for a skilled Service Technician who can qualify incoming service requests, order parts needed, service client's windows & doors, and properly complete the administrative documents for projects. This position requires someone who has window and door installation experience or a technical background with mechanical skills, has experience using computer software systems, and is highly organized. Skills & qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience working in the building industry, preferably with windows and doors specifically
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history
- Reliable car to get to and from work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to provide top level customer service while always being professional
- Knowledgeable of computer programs and software (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Highly organized and detail orientated
- Team player
- Positive attitude
- In-depth product knowledge and willingness to learn what’s needed for the position
- Ability to diagnose and repair windows and doors
- Good tool skills
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Field incoming service requests from project managers and the general public
- Maintain complete and thorough Field Service records
- Provide timely responses to customers
- Assess the problem that the customer has and form the best plan of action
- Correctly calculate cost of job and prepare estimates
- Use vendor software to add and close jobs
- Secure parts using vendor software
- Schedule service visits with clients
- Safely drive to and from appointments
- Collect payment for pay-for service jobs
- Communicate any field service issues clearly
- Correctly mark and file paperwork so every job is logged properly
- Company vehicle provided or reimbursement for personal vehicle
- Assist with warehouse duties when needed
- Assist with building improvements and maintenance projects
- Communicate timely and effectively with everyone in the company
- Dress professionally
- Represent the company in a way that builds customer retention and satisfies building owners
Location: Plainfield, IL (office location) and servicing the Chicagoland area
Hours: 7:00a start time
Salary: $25-35/hr with opportunity for additional earnings
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
