Role Description The Respiratory Therapist is a full-time, on-site role located in Vermont, United States. This position is responsible for assessing patients’ respiratory status, performing diagnostic tests, and delivering therapeutic interventions such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and ventilator management. Day-to-day duties include collaborating with physicians and nurses to develop and adjust respiratory care plans, monitoring and documenting patient responses, and educating patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatments. The Respiratory Therapist will support emergency and critical care situations, participate in equipment setup and maintenance, and follow all safety and infection control protocols. The role also involves contributing to quality improvement initiatives and maintaining accurate clinical records.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Respiratory Therapy and Respiratory Care, including assessment, treatment planning, and patient education.
- Experience with Cardiopulmonary care, including managing oxygen delivery systems and ventilatory support.
- Knowledge of Medicine principles relevant to respiratory conditions, collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care or pediatric respiratory support is highly beneficial.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the applicable state.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program; associate or bachelor’s degree in respiratory care or related field preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-acuity settings.
