Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure freshness
- Support menu planning by suggesting creative ideas for daily specials or new dishes that align with customer preferences
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during busy hours
- Assist in catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting, ideally as a line cook or culinary assistant
- Familiarity with dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus, demonstrating knowledge of special dietary needs and restrictions
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques essential for efficient meal production
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures to ensure compliance and guest safety
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, cooking, and food service operations preferred
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving guests and supporting kitchen colleagues
Pay: $11.50 - $15.00 per hour
