Sales Director – Optical Networking (Mid-West US)
Are you a high-energy sales leader with a deep technical grasp of WDM and Transport networking? A leading international innovator in network systems is looking for a Sales Director to spearhead growth across the Mid-West. We provide high-value, software-driven connectivity solutions to over many service providers globally, including Tier 1 carriers.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind deploying advanced optical solutions to tier 2/3 Service Providers and Data Centers (Colocation providers) throughout the region.
The Role
As the Sales Director, you will develop and execute strategic plans to expand our footprint in the Mid-West. You won't just be "selling"; you’ll be a consultant, working closely with Sales Engineering and Product teams to deliver complex technical and commercial solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth: Develop and implement sales plans to deploy cutting-edge transport solutions.
- Customer Advocacy: Drive customer requirements internally to ensure the delivery of tailored solutions.
- Active Engagement: Maintain high visibility with weekly product overviews, company updates, and business discussions.
- Pipeline Management: Research prospective customers and provide detailed weekly activity updates via Salesforce.
- Presence: Establish and complete regular in-person and video conference meetings; travel is required.
What You Bring
We are looking for a results-oriented professional who can work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Experience: 5 years of success in a quota-carrying sales role, specifically within the WDM / Transport networking equipment space.
- Technical Depth: Broad knowledge of the Telecom and Data Center industries, including IP, MPLS, SDN, and Optics.
- Foundational Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of DWDM networks and overall transport solutions.
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business or Engineering.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
