Staff Accountant – General Accounting

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close process.
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the implementation and documentation of new accounting procedures and systems.
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in general accounting or related roles.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data accurately.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPA or working towards CPA certification is a plus.
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
