Summary


A growing engineering organization delivering mission-critical solutions for government customers is seeking a Senior Program Controls Analyst to support complex development programs across engineering and defense environments.

Working at the intersection of Program Management, Engineering, and Finance, you'll play a key role in monitoring cost, schedule, and resource performance while providing the financial insight needed to keep critical programs on track. This is an opportunity to influence high-value technical programs, work closely with senior stakeholders, and help drive successful program execution through accurate reporting, forecasting, and analysis.


Responsibilities


Senior Program Controls Analysts in this role support the financial planning, execution, and reporting of complex engineering programs. Responsibilities include monitoring program budgets, tracking cost and schedule performance, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with contractual reporting requirements.


You'll work closely with Program Managers, Engineering teams, and Finance to analyze program performance, identify risks and opportunities, develop mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations that support informed business decisions. Additional responsibilities include preparing customer deliverables, supporting Earned Value reporting requirements, monitoring resource allocation against forecasts, and contributing to proposal activities where required.


Required Skills


  • Strong experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Program cost and schedule management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Financial planning, forecasting, and budget management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience preparing customer financial reports and program status updates
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Program Management, Engineering, and Finance
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities


Preferred Skills

  • Proposal development experience
  • Experience supporting engineering and development programs
  • Knowledge of CDRL reporting requirements
  • Earned Value reporting (Formats 1-5)
  • Risk and opportunity management
  • Resource forecasting and labor planning
  • Experience within both large organizations and growing engineering businesses
  • Defense or government contracting experience


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related discipline
  • 10 years of Program Controls, Program Cost Analyst, or equivalent experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance
