About The Role

Seaport Entertainment is looking for a Counter Associate to be based in The Seaport. Reporting to the Director of QSR, the Counter Associate is responsible for ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our quick service restaurant guests. Operating at the forefront of transactions, you will play a key role in processing orders accurately, handling payments, and providing excellent service at the point of sale.

What You Will Do

  • Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor as they approach the counter. 
  • Assist guests in making menu choices, providing information about items, and answering inquiries. 
  • Take guests orders accurately, inputting details into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system promptly. 
  • Ensure precision in recording guest preferences, modifications, and special requests. 
  • Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and presentation standards. 
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely order fulfillment. 
  • Process guest payments, handling cash transactions accurately and providing change and receipts. 
  • Operate the cash register and POS system proficiently. 
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or inquiries with a positive and solution-oriented approach. 
  • Ensure a clean and organized counter area, contributing to a pleasant dining environment. 
  • Monitor and replenish counter supplies, including condiments, napkins, and utensils, to meet guest needs. 
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and support staff to maintain adequate stock levels. 
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining cleanliness in the serving area and practicing proper sanitation procedures. 
  • Follow established handwashing and hygiene protocols. 
  • Perform all other tasks as duties as assigned and/or per business need.  

About You

  • Previous experience in a quick-service restaurant setting is advantageous. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-paced environment, handling multiple tasks. 
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems. 
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. 
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.   

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.    
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.   
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 – 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis).    
  • Ability to stand for prolong periods of time.    
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.    
  • Climbing steps regularly.   

Compensation: $16.50 per hour
