Position Summary:
We are seeking a mature, dedicated husband and wife team to live on-site and care for up to six children in a traditional home setting. Houseparents at Seamark Ranch create a nurturing, structured, and faith-based environment while partnering with our education, counseling, and agricultural teams to support each child's individual growth and healing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Christ-centered family life using biblical values and healthy structure.
- Provide daily care, supervision, and spiritual leadership for up to six children.
- Support children’s emotional, social, educational, and physical development.
- Collaborate with Ranch counselors, teachers, and leadership staff.
- Maintain the home, vehicles, and assigned Ranch property.
- Guide children in household chores, meal preparation, and life skills.
- Use fair, consistent discipline aligned with Seamark’s policies (no corporal punishment).
- Document child progress, incident reports, and attend staff meetings.
- Participate in church, family devotions, and Ranch-wide spiritual activities.
Schedule:
This is a full-time, live-in role with scheduled relief time (currently 3 nights/month) and two weeks of vacation annually. Houseparents are expected to be available during the week while children are in school for meetings and Ranch support tasks.
Qualifications:
- Married couple (minimum 2 years), both at least 25 years of age
- High school diploma or GED (college experience a plus)
- Experience working with children (preferably those from trauma backgrounds)
- Active in a local church; profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Willing to live on-site and commit to a minimum two-year term
- Pass background checks, drug screening, driving record, and credit review
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to uphold and support Seamark’s Statement of Faith and Core Values
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of 40 hours of training annually, including TBRI
- Ability to work in a structured, team-oriented environment
- A heart for ministry and a calling to serve children in need
