Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead our growth efforts in the municipal and public sector. In this key role, you will be responsible for expanding our presence with cities, towns, public works departments, and other government agencies.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in public sector business development, a deep understanding of the procurement process, and strong relationship-building skills with municipal decision-makers. You will work closely with internal teams to identify bidding opportunities, respond to RFPs, and develop long-term partnerships that align with municipal needs and priorities.
This is a highly visible role that will play a critical part in shaping our success in the government market.
Duties (Municipal Market Focus)
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to grow municipal accounts and meet company objectives.
- Leverage Salesforce and other CRM tools to track public sector leads, manage government client relationships, and analyze pipeline activity.
- Conduct research on municipal budgets, procurement cycles, and upcoming infrastructure initiatives to identify new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with city and town officials, public works departments, and procurement officers.
- Collaborate with marketing to create outreach campaigns targeted toward municipal stakeholders, including bid notifications, events, and direct communication.
- Manage RFP and bid submissions from inception to award, ensuring compliance with all local government requirements.
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations tailored to the needs of public-sector audiences.
- Monitor public policy, funding opportunities, and competitor activity within the municipal market to inform strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development or public-sector sales, with a successful track record working with municipalities, state agencies, or local government entities.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems; experience tracking government contacts and bid timelines is a plus.
- Strong understanding of municipal procurement, public budgeting cycles, and decision-making structures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with government stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and project management skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also collaborating with internal teams across sales, operations, and marketing.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year, based on experience

Schedule
