Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that our products provide a high level of quality that meets customer expectations. This position will be responsible for assessment, design, implementation, and execution of quality programs and processes that support the continuous improvement of the business and reduction of quality incidents and customer complaints. The candidate must be an effective leader who possesses a strong aptitude for data analysis and interpretation of information, technically minded, can work with little direction, and have a good understanding of quality systems and processes.
Pay rate: $25.50/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide Quality support to businesses across the plant. This includes but is not limited to, Quality standards, material dispositions, and non-conformance containment.
Audits current processes for conformance to departmental SOCs, SOPs, and product specifications.
Works with departmental leadership to initiate corrective action processes when nonconformances are discovered.
Leads and/or collaborates with cross-functional teams to define and solve complex and/or recurring quality issues using a DMAIC systems approach.
Positive and influential change leader. Agent in charge of shaping quality culture for the plant.
Responsible for assuring document control of all approved quality documents.
Prepares quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
Helps set and update quality KPIs throughout the plant.
Supports in the development of quality training documents. Conducts routine refresher training for key quality procedures and processes for the plant.
Manages effective usage of SPC in the departments.
Assures compliance with Test Methods and Specifications.
Charged in assuring Quality Management Systems and SQF compliance is being met throughout the plant.
Responsible for defining, implementing, and executing programs and processes used to achieve Quality goals, while also driving down departmental spoilage and quality-related yield losses.
Accountable for ensuring effective execution and control of non-conforming materials throughout the plant.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalency required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
5+ years of direct manufacturing processes experience preferred
Green Belt/Black Belt and/or Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
Quality Management Systems knowledge and how it relates to the manufacturing business
Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes
Familiar with the fundamentals of Root Cause Analysis
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Word Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab (or similar statistical tools)
Able to safely move and manipulate material for inspection or impound
Frequent use of cutting devices to remove material from rolls for sample collection
Long hours of standing and/or walking. Climbing of stairs required.
