Position Summary
The Equipment Engineering team, part of the Research & Development (R&D) organization at Sealed Air, is a group of highly motivated, energetic, and bright individuals with a wide variety of skillsets. As a member of this team, you will work closely with fellow engineers, designers, technicians, Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing, to develop automation equipment and electro-mechanical assemblies. The scope of work in the R&D organization is broad and will require you to provide technical leadership during project conceptualization, project planning, design, manufacturing, in-house testing, installation, and the development of supporting machine documentation.

Job Description
Conceptualize and design industrial food packaging equipment and automation solutions
Analyze mechanical systems according to engineering and scientific principles
Develop, design, and run equipment testing and training to ensure commercial success of new solutions
Complete system documentation including CAD drawing packages and manuals
Provide Sales and Marketing support to identify potential customer opportunities
Provide customer support focusing on operation and maintenance training and field troubleshooting with root-cause analysis and closed-loop corrective actions
Execute detailed technical project plans which ensure deliverables are met and communicate project health to internal and external stakeholders
Support portfolio of existing solutions through management of part obsolescence and technology upgrades
Support Manufacturing with customer orders, inventory management, and production documentation
Ensure equipment compliance with all applicable safety and hygienic design standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
10+ years experience
Proficiency in 3D CAD Design (SolidWorks experience preferred)
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Strong Interpersonal skills and influential leadership to support cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated experience in product and equipment development
Exceptional problem solving and mechanical design abilities
Broad technical knowledge and a hands-on approach to creating technical solutions
Demonstrated ability to meet technical challenges with creative and innovative solutions
Experienced in on-site installation and troubleshooting of equipment and systems
Technical project management experience and a working familiarity with project management philosophy and application
Ability to travel overnight and internationally up to 30%
