Sheet Metal III

Shift: 2nd shift

HOURS: 2:30pm-12:30am

• Strict adherence to company safety policies and practices
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for fabrication of mechanical components including determining material gauge and type
• Select, use, and operate a variety of special and standard equipment such as:
• Shear, press brake, punches, bending and forming roll, shrinking and stretching equipment, band saw, circular saw, polishing and buffing lathe, hand and pedestal grinders, cutting saws, blast cabinet, drill presses and thread tapping machines
• Maintain inventory of associated operating supplies
• Select and use of numerous hand tools and precision measuring devices such as (but not limited to) drill motors, wrenches, micrometers, calipers, dividers, depth gauges, grinders, sanders​, and thread tapping machine
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Produce high quality parts with low rejection rate
• Repair and maintain shop equipment and facilities as required
• Maintain 5S activities and timely completion of 5S audits

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to multi-task
• Basic computer skills
• SAP experience preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Minimum of 3 years of press brake and sheet metal experience
• Experienced in operation of hand grinders (pads, disc, belt)
• Experienced in operation of pedestal grinder
• Experienced in operation of hand-held buffing flexible shaft machine
• Experienced in operation of polishing and buffing lathe, blast cabinet, and manual machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and thread tapping machine

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a certification program for precision sheet metal operators is preferred
