Position Overview
Sealand Contractors is currently seeking an experienced Paving Foreman to lead asphalt paving operations, along with a full paving crew to support project demands. This team will play a vital role in delivering smooth, high-quality paved surfaces across our various projects, including County and City streets, Highways, driveways, and access roads. The ideal foreman candidate is a strong leader with hands-on paving experience and the ability to coordinate crews, equipment, and schedules efficiently. We are looking to build a dependable, high-performing team ready to take ownership of the paving phase from start to finish.
Paving Foreman – Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all daily paving operations, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Direct and coordinate crew members, equipment operators, and truck drivers on-site
- Read and interpret site plans, grades, and job specifications to maintain proper alignment, thickness, and finish
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of paving equipment, including pavers, rollers, material transfer vehicles, and tack buggies
- Manage materials, timing of deliveries, and job site logistics to avoid downtime
- Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate daily progress with the project manager or site superintendent
- Always uphold Sealand's safety standards and jobsite expectations
- We are a Union Shop. If currently not a Union member we will put the right people into the Union to fill these roles.
Paving Crew Roles Needed:
We are hiring for a full crew to work under the paving foreman. Open roles include:
- Asphalt Raker
- Roller Operator
- Paver Operator
Qualifications (Foreman & Crew):
- Prior experience in asphalt paving is required for all roles
- Leadership and crew management experience required for Foreman applicants
- Strong understanding of paving equipment and processes
- Ability to read and follow site plans and instructions
- Commitment to safety, quality, and timely project completion
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
