SeaHarbor Insurance is a Dallas-based provider of nonstandard personal automobile insurance throughout the State of Texas. Founded in 2017, SeaHarbor has experienced significant and extraordinarily successful growth.
Due to continuing growth, we are seeking Auto Bodily Injury Claims Adjusters to support our Dallas, Texas Claims Office.
The successful candidate will be a high performing Claims professional that is customer focused, willing to work in a fast-paced, metrics driven work environment, accepts responsibility for their own results and those of their team.
Only those candidates that currently hold a valid Texas resident Adjuster's License and have a minimum of two years auto personal lines bodily injury liability claims adjusting experience, will be considered.
Position Responsibilities:
- Reviews each claim file to identify and establish a prompt investigation of coverage, liability, and damages.
- Oversee assigned claims in accordance with the policy contract, best internal practices, industry standard, Fair Claim Practices, regulatory guidelines, applicable case law, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Properly documents and manages all aspects of the file during the life of a claim (investigation, correspondence, negotiation, and settlement).
- Effectively negotiates the settlement of claims of varying complexity with little direction and more complex claims under the direction of their supervisor/manager.
- Achieves a prompt, fair and equitable settlement of a claim, where there is policy liability.
- Communicate timely and professionally with insureds, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, and other carriers via telephone and written correspondence to set expectations, explain rationale behind decisions made, and negotiate settlements as appropriate through resolution.
- Works within settlement authority; submits requests to management for authority to negotiate, settle, accept, or deny claims when appropriate.
- Investigates questions on coverage under a reservation of rights and advises the Underwriting Department of adverse findings.
- Ensures that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements for Consideration:
· Current Texas Resident Adjuster’s License
· Minimum two-years personal lines bodily injury liability claims adjusting experience
· High degree of self-discipline and able to work independently
· Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
· Strong negotiation skills, with a desire to negotiate
· Full understanding of, and ability to apply, comparative negligence
· Superior customer service skills, with a desire to help others
· Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management skills
· Focused and driven to meet assigned goals and objectives
· Proficiency with computers, including automated claims systems
· Strong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to professionally communicate with internal and external Customers
Preferred Attributes:
· Bachelor’s or Associate degree
· Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) is a plus
