What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at SEAGRAVE FIRE APPARATUS LLC?
Utilize ethically accepted purchasing practices to select qualified sources of supply for the purchase of raw materials, heavy truck component parts and assemblies, services, capital equipment, and MRO supplies consistent with quality and timely delivery to meet production requirements as required by the Company.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage multiple suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and services to meet the Company’s goals and objectives.
- Coordinate Engineering Change Notice (ECN) data to suppliers.
- Manage the purchasing process including solicit and analyze quotations, review and process discrepant invoices, warranty, over shipments, and/or defective materials issues.
- Associate degree in related field desired.
- Or one year of experience in planning and buying in a computerized, manufacturing, MRP/MRPII procurement environment.
- Preferred an APICS (CPIM) or Purchasing (CPM) certification.
