Position Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and optimizing parts inventory accuracy. This role plays a critical part in supporting production, accounting, procurement, and sales by ensuring inventory records aligning with physical stock, manufacturer requirements, and internal controls.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Create P.O.’s, receive against P.O.’s and RA’s, verify goods, quantity of goods, identify, label, and disposition of goods
- Ensure daily cycle counts are performed to maintain inventory accuracy
- Monitor and update reorder levels of goods used or sold
- Investigate root cause of inventory inaccuracies
- Make timely & accurate system updates
- Run various reports and compare physical counts of raw materials and components within ERP system
- Verify system inventory to physical inventory and document all findings
- Research inventory discrepancies by following the movement of products throughout the ERP system; diagnose problems and communicate the necessary or recommended adjustments to management or resolve independently when possible
- Conduct root cause analysis to prevent occurrence of non-conformities
- Make inventory record adjustments in ERP system Communicate with various departments and members of management to report inventory discrepancies
- Communicate clearly and work as part of a team
Perform all job functions in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies/procedures
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in continuous improvement projects within our inventory control system
- Operate powered industrial vehicles and pallet jacks to load/unload and transport materials, supplies, components, and finished product
- Train new and existing team members in inventory control functions to ensure task can performed properly; share knowledge and best practices to help aid efficiency and productivity
- Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, clean and maintain equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or relevant certification preferred
- 2 years of inventory, warehouse, purchasing, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Paycom, Deltek, SAP, Oracle, etc. a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze discrepancies and resolve issues independently
- Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory software)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
