What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fresh Seafood Assistant (SEASONAL) position at Seafoods of the World?
This seasonal position will support our Fresh division during our peak season of April through September 11th, 2026. Typical duties and responsibilities for each day are outlined below. Potential for continued employment November through March, based on performance and company need.
- Part time (approx. 17 hours).
- Mondays & Thursdays 7:30AM—4:30 PM
- Some flexibility on start/end time based on applicant need.

- Hourly pay of $19.00. Weekly pay period.
Typical duties and responsibilities:
- Pack wholesale fresh orders, including weighing/portioning products, rebagging items, and correctly boxing/ labeling orders following specific guidelines.
- Communicate with Fresh and Retail Managers about incoming products and customer orders.
- Fill & manage retail fresh product display, including washing dishes.
- All employees must follow Health-Code procedures for cutting, packaging and cleaning. (To be taught)
- Walk cutting room regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary and overall clean appearance at all times.
- Assist with cleaning the cutting room at the end of the day, including sweeping and mopping, cleaning tables, rinsing sinks, etc.
- Vacuum pack low-stock items following proper technique (to be taught on the job).
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Job requirements:
- Must be over the age of 15.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reach, lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to 100 pounds.
- Handle refrigerated and frozen food products and enter frozen and cold storage areas for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to work and communicate effectively as a team.
