Role Overview: Provides essential support before, during, and after surgical procedures by ensuring proper arrangement of equipment and supplies in the operating room. Assists surgeons within professional and legal standards and participates in cleaning and maintaining the sterile environment post-operation.

- Ensures availability and proper setup of surgical instruments and supplies
- Assists surgeons during procedures as appropriate
- Maintains sterile field and adheres to infection control policies
- Supports cleaning and reprocessing of surgical equipment and operating room
- Anticipates surgeon’s needs based on knowledge of surgical procedures
- Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technician program
- Certification through NBSTSA or ability to obtain CST certification within 6 months
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strict adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols
- Knowledge of surgical equipment, procedures, and aseptic principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and work collaboratively
- Commitment to ongoing education and certification maintenance
