Role Overview: A Peer Recovery Coach / Recovery Support Specialist provides individual and group coaching to individuals with substance use and mental health challenges, especially those reentering the community after incarceration.
Key Responsibilities: Facilitate recovery coaching in jail and outpatient settings, support clients with co-occurring disorders, assist with reentry planning, and connect clients to ongoing services. Maintain accurate documentation, ensure confidentiality, and communicate effectively with clients, staff, and external providers.
Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health, substance use, or peer support, with active certification (CAPRC-I, CAPRC-II, CPRS, CPRC, or CRS). High school diploma required; Bachelor's preferred. Must be comfortable working with trauma-affected populations and familiar with criminal justice challenges. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills are essential.
