Role Overview: The echocardiography technician performs various echocardiogram procedures, including 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, transesophageal, and stress echo, ensuring high technical standards under supervision.
Responsibilities: Ensure patient safety and identification, maintain a clean environment, accurately complete documentation for billing, prepare patients, support quality assurance, and demonstrate technical proficiency in echo procedures.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires an associate degree or equivalent training, current BLS certification, RDCS or RCS credential, effective communication, experience with echocardiography equipment (Philips preferred), and hospital experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize STAT orders, and utilize critical thinking are essential.
Key Duties: Manage supplies within budget, participate in ongoing education, adhere to safety and confidentiality protocols, and support departmental quality initiatives.
