What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non-Destructive Testing Technician position at SeaCast Inc.,?
SeaCast, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of precision investment castings, is actively looking for a Level 1 radiographic testing (RT) technician, a Level 2 (RT) technician, and a visual inspector for our second shift (3:30pm - Midnight). The ideal candidate would train in NDT on day shift before transferring to afternoon shift.
JOB DUTIES:
Objective: to accurately set up castings for radiography.
* Checks routing or requests to determine x-ray needs on parts.
* Reviews Technique Cards to determine setup requirements, including x-ray techniques, part positions and film requirements based on Techniques Cards.
* Sets up additional radiographs of defect areas not covered by Technique Cards.
* Prepares daily film requests for darkroom based on production schedules and Technique Cards.
* Sets up castings on tables in x-ray machines including fixturing, placement of film cassettes, and placement of nameplate identification and penetrometers on film; sets exposures.
* Determines priority of radiographs to be taken.
* Develops setup requirements for new techniques when needed.
Other (marginal) Job Functions:
* Operates x-ray machine control panels and equipment to take multiple views of castings, adjusting radiographic variables such as tube height, voltage and exposure times within customer specifications.
* Regularly conducts more than one radiographic examination concurrently and is expected to be able to operate all machines.
* Removes table from machine, takes film cassettes to darkroom for processing.
* After darkroom processing, checks samples of radiographs on each casting for clarity, coverage, density and sensitivity; makes changes within customer specifications
AS9100 and/or Napcap experience a plus. We have multiple positions available for morning and afternoon shifts in Marysville, Washington.
