The Stock Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and tracking inventory in the warehouse or stockroom. This role involves maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring timely restocking, and assisting with inventory control to ensure the availability of products for orders.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices.
Inspect and count stock items to ensure accuracy and quality.
Organize and store products in designated locations, ensuring easy access and efficient use of space.
Track and update inventory levels, and notify management when stock is low or running out.
Maintain accurate records of stock movements and transactions.
Assist in preparing stock for delivery, ensuring items are correctly packaged and labeled.
Perform regular stock audits to ensure inventory records match physical stock.
Report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to management.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom or warehouse area.
Assist with other warehouse duties, such as shipping, receiving, and order picking as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience (1-2 years) in a stock clerk, warehouse, or inventory-related role.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying stock.
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Basic computer skills, with the ability to use inventory management software or tools.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with inventory management systems or software.
Forklift certification or experience.
Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
