Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. Duties
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and quickly
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries or needs
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about merchandise
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Support in store cleaning, organizing, and general upkeep to create a pleasant shopping environment
- Supervise or assist less experienced team members when needed
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for transactions and retail math tasks
- Experience in retail sales, upselling, merchandising, and stock management
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership roles within the team
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail environments enhances performance
