We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our warehouse material handling equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operations.
The Warehouse Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on forklifts, electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. This position plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and supporting warehouse productivity.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on:
- Electric forklifts
- Propane forklifts
- Electric pallet jacks
- Manual pallet jacks
- Reach trucks (if applicable)
- Order pickers
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, steering, and drive systems.
- Diagnose battery charging and electrical issues.
- Repair hydraulic cylinders, pumps, hoses, and valves.
- Replace wheels, tires, bearings, motors, brakes, and lift chains.
- Inspect equipment for OSHA safety compliance.
- Maintain service records and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate outside repairs when necessary.
- Maintain parts inventory and recommend replacement parts.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and manufacturer standards.
Qualifications
- 3 years repairing forklifts or warehouse equipment
- Experience with electric and propane forklifts
- Strong knowledge of:
- Hydraulic systems
- Electrical systems
- DC motors
- Industrial batteries and chargers
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Raymond certification
- Crown certification
- Toyota forklift experience
- Yale or Hyster experience
- OSHA Forklift Safety knowledge
- Welding experience is a plus
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday–Saturday
- Occasional emergency weekend repairs as needed
