Job Description
We are seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team! The phlebotomist will draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed in the Health Services Units of the USP and the FPC located at 1300 Metropolitan Ave Leavenworth, KS 66048
Responsibilities:
An anticipated schedule for the provision of phlebotomy services is Mon - Fri between 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays. (This anticipated schedule includes a 30 minute non-paid lunch break.) The schedule may be adjusted to meet the lab service needs mutually agreed between the contractor and the Government. 6 hours per day, 30 hours per week.
Compensation:
$17.85 per hour w/ an additional $4.41 per hour for Health & Welfare. Think of it as $22.26 per hour. Earn up to 56 hours per year of Sick Leave & 11 paid Federal Holidays. 2 weeks paid Vacation after one year of service. Medical, Dental, Vision and Disability Insurance is available.

Responsibilities:
- Collect and store blood samples from patients
- Distribute samples to designated departments
- Monitor storage and inventory of supplies
- Maintain clean and healthy work environment
- Adhere to laboratory safety policies and procedures
- Assist in the recovery of patients with adverse reactions
- Completed a 12 - week Lab Technician Program, an approved state program, or possess an associate's degree
- Previous experience in phlebotomy, nursing, or other related fields (at least 6 months)
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Familiarity with medical software and equipment
- Strong organizational skills
