What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handling Load Controller position at Seaboard Triumph Foods?
The Load Controller must work accurately & quickly within the Warehouse Management System in order to keep a balanced flow of load packets, dock door management and maintain effective communication with all internal/external departments to meet the departure date and time for deliveries to customers. This includes completing reports and preparing all paperwork neatly and accurately. Assist Shipping Supervisor in any way needed to keep shipping moving smoothly without down time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare current & next day load packets, load status sheets neatly without errors using Company based & Microsoft Office software.
- Communicate efficiently & effectively with all internal and external departments. I.E. – Sales, Scheduling, Transportation, Traffic, Billing, Material Handling, FSQA, Safety, Maintenance….etc.
- Work up and prepare load add-ons, load ahead and make corrections on current orders/loads for current day if applicable.
- Perform all WMS functions needed to prepare and complete loads for shipping.
- Keep work area clean.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the work environment, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required or preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED is required. One or more years’ experience in warehousing or distribution is preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
