Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teacher to provide personalized educational support for a student with special needs. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with the student’s IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals, focusing on literacy, math, communication, social skills, and functional life skills.
- Provide one-on-one instruction to support the student’s academic progress across core subjects such as early childhood education, preschool curriculum, and specialized learning areas.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy techniques, and instructional design principles to promote positive behaviors and skill acquisition.
- Incorporate learning technology tools and assistive devices to enhance engagement and accessibility for students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral specialists, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support tailored to the student’s needs.
- Monitor progress regularly through assessments and standardized testing; adjust teaching methods accordingly to maximize learning outcomes.
- Maintain detailed records of lessons, behavioral observations, IEP progress reports, and communication logs with families and team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Child Development, or related field; advanced certifications such as teaching credentials or special education licensure preferred.
- Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities in settings such as private schools, early intervention programs, or preschool environments.
- Strong knowledge of special education strategies including curriculum development for learners with autism, deaf education, visually impaired education, and early childhood development.
- Familiarity with behavioral management techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior therapy, and behavior management plans.
- Experience using learning technology platforms and assistive devices to support diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with students, families, therapists, and educators.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math instruction, physical education activities, music therapy techniques, recreational therapy methods, and library services when appropriate.
