What You'll Do
As a Marine Capper, you will:
- Perform hull and deck assembly operations according to Sea Fox production standards.
- Prepare bonding surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and structural integrity.
- Apply marine-grade adhesives, sealants, and bonding materials.
- Align and fit hull and deck components with precision.
- Install fasteners, backing plates, and structural components as required.
- Ensure proper fit, finish, and sealing of hull-to-deck connections.
- Perform inspections throughout the capping process to identify quality issues.
- Complete adjustments and corrections to meet Sea Fox quality standards.
- Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and marine-specific equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain clean work areas and follow all safety procedures.
- Work closely with Lamination, Rigging, and Production teams to keep boats moving through the manufacturing process.
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in marine manufacturing or boat building.
- Experience with hull and deck assembly, fiberglass boats, composites, or marine construction preferred.
- Knowledge of marine adhesives, sealants, bonding techniques, and fiberglass processes.
- Ability to read and follow production instructions and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot fit, alignment, and assembly issues.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in confined areas of boats.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fiberglass, resins, adhesives, and other marine production materials.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as production schedules require.
